YERMAM MEMBERSHIP

The establishment of the Association of Geosciences, Mining and Metallurgical Professionals (YERMAM) is based on the purpose of developing economic and technical cooperation, and sharing knowledge, opinions and technologies about these topics. For this reason, it was established by the Decree of the Council of Ministers in 2017 to bring together domestic and international professionals operating in the field of geosciences, mining and metallurgy (mineral processing, ore enrichment), to enhance cooperation among the members, to cooperate with UMREK and to carry out international activities in its field.

The UMREK Code, developed by the National Mineral Resource and Reserve Commission (UMREK), has been accepted by CRIRSCO in accordance with international standards. UMREK certificated Qualified Persons (YK/CP/QP), who will work and prepare reports by using these codes, will be determined from among the members of an independent, professional organization with ethical rules and an audit mechanism on its members. This professional organization is YERMAM. Technical studies such as mineral exploration, resource and reserve estimates, the scope of which they are based on pre-feasibility and feasibility, which are signed by "Qualified Persons" (QP), who are determined among YERMAM professional members and approved by UMREK, will be accepted by financial institutions, investors and capital markets. Thus, the integration of Turkish professionals into the global geosciences and mining community will be ensured.
